A Syrian immigrant moved to Germany and started looking for a job.
Eventually, he got hired as a salesman at a huge department store that sold pretty much everything.
At the end of his first day, the manager gathered the sales team and asked each of them how many customers they had served that day. The numbers were pretty close, until it was the Syrian guy’s turn.
“How many customers did you sell to today?” the manager asked.
“Just one,” he replied.
The manager got furious, but then asked how much he sold to this one customer.
“$93,000.”
The Syrian salesman explained that he first sold the customer a fishing rod, then a boat, a boat trailer, a fishing net, a camping setup, and a barbecue grill.
The manager stared at him. “You expect me to believe this guy came in wanting to buy a fishing rod, and you somehow sold him all of that?!”
The Syrian salesman shook his head. “No, actually, he came in to buy some pads for his wife.”
The manager froze. “Then how the hell did you sell him $93,000 worth of fishing equipment?!”
The salesman shrugged. “Well, I told him, ‘If your weekend is already ruined, you might as well go fishing.’”
