  • An Elephant At The Bar

An elephant walks into a bar. Nobody acknowledges him.

The elephant went out and came back with a few of his fellow elephants and got a beer from the bartender.

The other customers were amazed and asked how he did it.

The elephant said, “You need to make yourself herd.”

  • The British Engineers

Scientists at NASA built a gun specifically to launch standard four-pound dead chickens at the windshields of airliners, military jets, and the space shuttle, all traveling at maximum velocity.

The idea is to simulate the frequent incidents of collisions with airborne fowl to test the strength of the windshields.

British engineers heard about the gun and were eager to test it on the windshields of their new high-speed trains. Arrangements were made, and a gun was sent to the British engineers.

When the gun was fired, the engineers stood shocked as the chicken hurtled out of the barrel, crashed into the shatterproof shield, smashed it to smithereens, blasted through the control console, snapped the engineer’s backrest in two, and embedded itself in the back wall of the cabin, like an arrow shot from a bow. The horrified Brits sent NASA the disastrous results of the experiment, along with the designs of the windshield, and begged the U.S. scientists for suggestions.

NASA responded with a one-line memo:

    “Defrost the chicken.”

  • A Joke That Backfired

It’s amazing how a joke can backfire.

Clean Mode hides the spicy parts.
    Unleash Chaos

I was in a bar and told the following joke:

“What do you do if an epileptic has a seizure in the bathtub?

Throw your clothes in so they get a wash.”

Once the laughing of my friends had died down, I became aware of a man on the other side of the bar, crying and talking to the bartender.

The bartender came over to me and told me that the gentleman at the bar had recently lost his son and that my joke had offended him.

    I thought I should apologize.

I approached the gentleman and offered my condolences for his loss and my apologies if my joke had offended him. He said that the joke had only got to him because his son was an epileptic, and it was a seizure that killed him.

Ignorant as I am, I wondered how a seizure could actually kill someone. The man said that his son had choked, passed out, and hit his head, and that was what had killed him. I asked where this happened, and the man said it was in the bathtub. I realized then how inappropriate my joke seemed in the moment.

“Did your son choke on his own tongue?” I asked.

“No,” replied the man. “He choked on one of my socks!”
